Use this checklist to compare packaging material choices before printing boxes, bags, labels, inserts, sleeves, mailers or retail display packaging.

1. Product details: weight, size, fragility, temperature sensitivity, liquid risk, shelf life and delivery route.
2. Packaging layer: primary packaging, secondary retail packaging, shipping packaging, gift packaging, food packaging or promotional kit packaging.
3. Material options: paperboard, corrugated board, kraft paper, coated stock, uncoated stock, paper bag, mailer box, sleeve, sticker label or insert card.
4. Brand and customer experience: color, typography, finish, texture, opening method, unboxing moment, sustainability message and repeat-purchase cue.
5. Production checks: print area, fold lines, flap positions, barcode space, QR code scan area, minimum quantity, unit cost, delivery deadline and storage needs.
