How Do You Print Excel Sheets Without Cutting Off Columns?

Excel worksheets can be much wider than a printed page. If the print area, paper size, orientation or scale is wrong, columns can spill onto extra pages or disappear from the intended sheet.

A spreadsheet can look correct on a screen and still print poorly because the screen view is not the print layout.

Select only the cells that should print, then set the print area. Microsoft notes that each separate print area can print as a separate page, so avoid selecting disconnected ranges unless that is intended.

Use print preview or page break preview to confirm that the selected cells are the actual content you want.

Use landscape orientation when the sheet is wider than it is tall. Consider A3 when a wide table is still too cramped on A4.

Enlarging the paper is not a cure for messy data. Remove unused columns, shorten headings and check whether the reader can follow the table.

Fitting all columns on one page can help, but it can also make text too small. Use it only after checking the exported PDF at a realistic printed size.

If the sheet becomes unreadable, split the table into logical sections instead of forcing everything onto one sheet.
